- 1965 - The Kinks and the Moody Blues made their U.S. concert debuts in New York
- 1966 - Peter Green joined John Mayall's Bluesbreakers.
- 1967 - Columbia Records released five Moby Grape singles on the same day.
- 1969 - Charlie Mingus came out of a two-year self-imposed retirement.
- 1976 - Ian Dury went solo from his group Kilburn and the High Roads.
- 1978 - Andy Gibb hit number 1 in the U.S. with Shadow Dancing, making him the first solo artist to start his career with three straight chart toppers.
- 1987 - A Florida woman sued Motley Crue for hearing loss after attending their concert and sitting ten feet from one of the speakers. They settled out-of-court for $30,000.
- 1995 - Rod Stewart puts 90,000 people in the seats of Wembley Stadium, a new record. For comparison, Live Aid drew 72,000.
- 1999 - A young girl was killed during a show by Hole at the Hultsfred Festival in Sweden.
- 2000 - The Grand Ole Opry goes high-tech as it begins webcasting on WSM's website.
