• 1964 - George Harrison formed his publishing company Harrissongs.
• 1964 - The winner of a Mick Jagger impersonation contest in Greenwich, England is his brother Chris Jagger.
• 1967 - The Beatles started filming Magical Mystery Tour.
• 1968 - Larry Graham of Sly and the Family Stone was arrested for marijuana possession when the band arrived in London.
• 1977 - David Bowie shot a guest appearance for the special Bing Crosby's Merrie Olde Christmas, duetting on Little Drummer Boy/Peace on Earth. The recording would go on to become a Christmas perennial. 
• 1979 - The Who play their first show U.S. show with Kenny Jones after the death of Keith Moon.
• 1984 - Barbara Mandrell and her children were injured in a car crash in Hendersonville, TN. 
• 1987 - Prince's Paisley Park Studios opened. 
• 1988 - Metallica opened their Damaged Justice world tour in Budapest, Hungary. 
• 1996 - Noel Gallagher walked out half way through an Oasis American tour after fighting with his brother Liam.
• 1996 - Michael Hutchence of INXS pleads guilty to assaulting a photographer.
• 1997 - John Lee Hooker received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
• 2000 - The Jimi Hendrix Surround Sound Theater and Exhibit was opened at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
• 2001 - Dream Theater's album Live Scenes From New York was released but quickly pulled back after the original cover ironically pictured the New York skyline with the World Trade Towers on fire.
• 2003 - Tommy Chong of Cheech & Chong was sentenced to nine months in prison and fined $20,000 for the sales of drug paraphernalia over the internet.
• 2003 - Jewel postponed her North American tour after her bassist, Termome "T-Bone" Hanson died.
