- 2005 - Simon Fuller, creator of American/Pop Idol settled his suit against the X Factor's Simon Cowell out of court. Fuller had claimed Cowell copied his shows format.
- 2007 - Control, the biopic of Ian Curtis of Joy Division, won five awards at the British Independent Film Awards.
- 2007 - Artimus Pyle, formerly of Lynyrd Skynyrd, was arrested when he didn't report a new address which is required of sex offenders.
