- 1968 - Bill Graham moved the Fillmore West from its original location in San Francisco to the Carousel Ballroom. The final show at the original venue was played by Electric Flag and Blue Cheer.
- 1969 - Bob Dylan made a surprise appearance with the Band at the Mississippi River Rock Festival, performing three songs.
- 1973 - The Everly Brothers broke up while on stage at Knott's Berry Farm in California. Phil smashed his guitar after he thought Don was drinking during the set and Don announced the split.
- 1973 - Gary Glitter and the Glitter Men played their first live show in Mecksham, England.
- 1977 - Elvis Costello & the Attractions made their live debut in Penzance, England.

- 2000 - Dr. Dre filed a lawsuit against the city of Detroit and three city officials for violation of first amendment rights after he was told he couldn't show a video during his show with partially nude women and a robbery.

- 2009 - Thousands of Michael Jackson fans went to London's O2 Arena in remembrance of the day that the singer's residency was to begin.
