  • 1896 - Frank Seaman opened the National Gramophone Company.
  • 1961 - The then unknown Beatles and Gerry & the Pacemakers joined together for a one-time show in Litherland, England, billing themselves as the Beatmakers.
  • 1966 - The Yardbirds arrived in New York for their first U.S. tour. Jeff Beck would only last two shows.
  • 1967 - Jim Reeves, Red Foley, Steve Sholes and Joe Frank were inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame.
  • 1968 - Peter Frampton, 18, guested with the Small Faces in London.
  • 1979 - ABBA opened a European tour in Gothenburg, Sweden
  • 1991 - Oasis played their first show with Noel Gallagher in the group in Manchester, England.
  • 1997 - Vince Gill paid tribute to the late John Denver at the Grand Ole Opry.
