1969 - Woodstock fever came to the U.K. with the second Isle of Wight festival. Artists included Bob Dylan, the Band, Bonzo Dog Dooh Dah Band, Family, Joe Cocker, Free, Richie Havens, Moody Blues, Nice, Tom Paxton, Pentagle and the Who.
1970 - The Rolling Stones started a European tour in Malmo, Sweden.
1972 - John Lennon and Yoko Ono held a benefit for the One-to-One charity at Madison Square Garden in New York with guests Stevie Wonder, Roberta Flack and Sha Na Na.
1973 - The Doors broke up after two post-Jim Morrison albums.
1975 - Paul Kossoff of Free and Back Street Crawler was "dead" for 35 minutes in the hospital while doctors tried to revive him. He would die seven months later.
1989 - Billy Joel fired his manager, Frank Weber, due to accounting problems. He eventually sued Weber for $90 million.
1989 - Izzy Stradlin of Guns N' Roses was arrested after causing a disturbance on a plane flight.
1991 - Dottie West is critically injured in a car accident.
1995 - Carly Simon and James Taylor performed together for the first time since 1979 to benefit a local Martha's Vineyard agricultural society.
2001 - Snoop Dogg and Ja Rule are arrested for using obscene language during a show at Montego Bay.
2003 - Michael Jackson celebrated his 45th birthday (the previous day) with a show at the Orpheum Theater in Los Angeles.
2003 - Hoobastank was forced to cancel the balance of their U.S. tour when Dan Estrin was injured falling off of a motorcycle.
2007 - Lil Wayne was sued for $1 million by a woman who says she was crushed in the crowd at one of his concerts when money was thrown.
