  • 1966 - Jerry Lee Lewis was signed to play Iago in Rock My Soul, a musical version of Othello.
  • 1968 - Ringo Starr quit the Beatles over the constant bickering during the recording of the White Album. He returned on September 3.
  • 1969 - The Beatles had their final photo session, the resulting pictures used on their Hey Jude compilation. They later filmed the promo video for The Long and Winding Road.
  • 1969 - Elvis Presley opened at the International Hotel in Las Vegas.
