• 1966 - The Beatles played their last official concert in San Francisco, CA.

• 1986 - The original American Bandstand studio was placed on the National Register of Historical Places.

• 1992 - U2 became the second act to play Shea Stadium in New York after Billy Joel.
• 1995 - A pilot and cameraman are killed during the filming of the video I'd Lie To You (And That's the Truth) by Meat Loaf.

• 2005 - Fats Domino was rescued from his home in New Orleans during flooding from hurricane Katrina.
• 2005 - Josh Homme of Queens of the Stone Age collapsed after a show in Hamburg, Germany from exhaustion.
• 2005 - Garbage cancelled their European tour saying that they had overextended themselves.
• 2007 - The Police began the European leg of their reunion tour in Stockholm, Sweden.
• 2008 - DMX plead guilty to trying to buy marijuana and cocaine and was sentenced to time served.
• 2009 - The Los Angeles coroner announced that Michael Jackson's death was a homicide based on the anesthetic Propofol which was found in his system.
