- 1990 - At a show in Alpine Valley, WI, Stevie Ray Vaughan & Double Trouble are joined for the encore by Eric Clapton, Buddy Guy, Jimmy Vaughan and Robert Cray.
- 1994 - While in New York working with Joe Walsh, Scottish singer Frankie Miller suffered a brain hemorrhage. He would be in a coma for five months and endure many months more learning to once again walk and talk.
- 1997 - Chad Smith of the Red Hot Chili Peppers crashed on his motorcycle in Beverly Hills, CA.

- 2005 - Ray Charles had a post office in Los Angeles named after him.
