  • 1964 - The council in Glasgow, Scotland announced that any person with a "Beatles cut" would have to wear a bathing cap in municipal pools because their hair was clogging the filters.
  • 1969 - The final day of the Woodstock Festival featured the Grease Band, Joe Cocker, Country Joe and the Fish, Ten Years After, the Band, Blood Sweat & Tears, Johnny Winter featuring Edgar Winter, Crosby Stills Nash & Young, Paul Butterfield Blues Band, Sha-Na-Na and Jimi Hendrix.
