• 1973 - The Neil Young documentary Journey Through the Past debuted at the Dallas Film Festival.
• 1975 - A total of 39 people were treated, including four at a hospital, after they attempted to swim across a lake to meet the Bay City Rollers.
• 1981 - Yes announced they were breaking up.
• 1984 - Michael Jackson had surgery to repair the damage done when his hair caught fire while shooting a Pepsi commercial.
• 1985 - Wham! became the first western artist to have an album released in China.
• 1995 - Tony McCarrol, drummer for Oasis, was told he was fired from the group via a phone call.
• 1998 - Diamond Rio was inducted into the Grand Ole Opry.
• 2003 - Etta James received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
