- 1936 - Milton Brown, considered the co-founder of Western Swing was in a car accident that left him in the hospital but expected to recover. He contracted pneumonia and died five days later.
- 1962 - The Beatles opened a 48-night residency at Hamburg's Star Club.
- 1964 - The Beatles announced their first film would be called A Hard Days Night.
- 1967 - The Rolling Stones played their first concert behind the Iron Curtain in Warsaw, Poland.
- 1979 - David Lee Roth collapsed on stage from exhaustion during the fifth day of Van Halen's world tour.

- 1982 - David Crosby was arrested in Dallas, TX after police found him preping cocaine in his dressing room.
