• 1966 - Mick Jagger was injured when a fan threw a chair on the stage during a show in Marseilles.
• 1966 - Two members of the Walker Brothers were given concussions when fans mobbed them in Cheshire, U.K.
• 1970 - John Lennon and Yoko Ono announced that Yoko is pregnant.
• 1973 - Dr. Hook got its wish and appeared on the cover of Rolling Stone.
• 1975 - Led Zeppelin had all six of their albums in the U.S. Top 100.
• 1978 - David Bowie started his Low/Heroes World Tour in San Diego.
• 1980 - Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon had its 303rd week on the Billboard Albums, pushing it past Carole King's Tapestry for the longest run on the chart.
• 1980 - The BeeGees were sued for allegedly plagiarizing the song How Deep is Your Love. They eventually win the case.
• 1986 - The Beatles albums become officially available for the first time in Russia.
• 1988 - Madonna opened on Broadway in Speed the Plow.
• 1996 - Carol Connors and Marshall Lieb, former members of the Teddy Bears, sued third member Phil Spector and a number of labels saying they had not received royalties for the record To Know Him Is to Love Him.
• 1998 - Shania Twain opened her first headlining tour in Sudbury, Ontario.
• 2000 - Phil Collins sued two members of Earth, Wind & Fire saying that they were overpaid $85,000 in royalties on the tracks Sussudio and Easy Lover.
• 2001 - Brian Wilson was honored at New York's Radio City Music Hall by Billy Joe, Paul Simon, The Go-Gos, Carly Simon, David Crosby, Jimmy Webb, Ann and Nancy Wilson, Elton John and Aimee Mann.
• 2004 - Prince opened his Musicology tour in Los Angeles. 
• 2005 - Neil Young entered a New York hospital when his eyesight became blurry following the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction. It was discovered he had a brain aneurysm.
• 2007 - Bono received an honorary knighthood. He was not eligible to receive the full honor as he was not a British citizen.
