- 1993 - A reformed Fleetwood Mac played the inauguration concert for Bill Clinton. The new president had used Don't Stop as the theme for his campaign.
- 1993 - The U.S. Supreme Court upholds a $2.5 million award to Tom Waits against Frito-Lay for their use of a sound-alike voice in the company's advertising.
- 1998 - Joey Ramone of the Ramones entered a New York hospital suffering from a blood related illness.
- 1998 - Pat Boone was presented with the first Michael the Archangel Award from the National Association of Police in recognition of his support of the families of officers killed in the line of duty.
- 1999 - Stanley “Buckwheat” Dural of Buckwheat Zydeco had surgery to remove lesions on his vocal chords.
