- 2000 - Gary Glitter was released from prison after serving two of a four month sentence for downloading child pornography from the internet.
- 2000 - Whitney Houston was detained in a Hawaian airport after trying to smuggle 15.2 grams of marijuana onto the plane.
- 2002 - Rosemary Clooney had successful lung cancer surgery.
- 2003 - Pete Townshend was forced to issue a statement saying he was not a pedophile after a police investigation named him as part of an inquiry. He said he did study the subject for a campaign against it.
- 2003 - Drummer Alan Whyte left Oasis after being diagnosed with tendonitis.
- 2004 - While taping a segment for his show Surviving Nugent: The Ten Commandments (VH1), Ted Nugent injures himself with a chainsaw, requiring 40 stitches.
- 2008 - Ringo Starr was in Liverpool to help the city celebrate the opening of their year as the official
- European Capital of Culture.
