• 1970 - Who drummer Keith Moon ran over chauffer Neil Boland while trying to escape a group of skinheads in Hatfield, England.

• 1973 - It was announced that Lamar Williams would replace the late Barry Oakley in the Allman Brothers.
• 1976 - Mal Evans, former roadie for the Beatles, was killed by Los Angeles police after he pointed a loaded rifle at them.
• 1979 - The Star Club in Hamburg, Germany reopened.
• 1993 - Patty Loveless returned to singing at the Grand Ole Opry after throat surgery.
