  • 1953 - Marty Robbins debuted at the Grand Ole Opry.
  • 1963 - Gary U.S. Bonds sued Chubby Checker alleging that his Dancin' Party sounded too much like Quarter to Three.
  • 1964 - Long John Baldry formed the Hoochie Coochie Men.
  • 1967 - Charley Pride made his first appearance at the Grand Ole Opry.
