  • 1965 - Keith Richards was knocked out when he was electrocuted by his guitar touching his microphone.
  • 1966 - Ray Charles received a five-year suspended sentence for possession of marijuana and heroin.
  • 1966 - The Monkees played live for the first time in Honolulu, HI.
  • 1971 - Frank Zappa abandoned his concert at the Montreux Casino in Switzerland when the building caught on fire. The blaze was immortalized in Deep Purple's Smoke on the Water.
  • 1976 - Pink Floyd's giant, inflatable pig broke free and floated over London.
  • 1976 - Bob Marley, his wife Rita and his manager, Don Taylor, were wounded when seven gunmen burst into his house in Kingston, Jamaica.
  • 1976 - 11,000 tickets went on sale for ABBA's Royal Albert Hall concerts. 3,500,000 applications were received.
  • 1979 - During a Who concert in Cincinnati, OH turned tragic when 11 people in the audience were trampled to death.
